Adom had some sort of portal spell. You know, like a teleport between levels. I loved this in Dungeon Crawl, and I would like in ADOM. Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Limitations-
Can't go down more than you have already gone down. (Ie, if COC 32 is the lowest level you've gone down, than you can't go past COC32.)
Has to be in at least a 3 by 3 square.
Has to have it's spellbook be VERY rare, like wish. Must take 100-200 PP per use.
Has to be able to jump 10 levels at a time.(Max)
Has to be able to have other monsters be able to go through.

That's it for now. :).

And skip the background corruption? Not a chance - either make it a corruptin spell, or just don't make it at all.

How about altering it into a Recall-type spell. Cast it once at one point in a dungeon to set an 'anchor' and cast it again to return to that spot. Can only be used in one dungeon, not between different dungeons (can't teleport from COC to VD, for instance) and once cast the anchor spot is gone and must be reset again.
That way, you would at least have to visit each level and not be able to skip sections.

The All-Powerful Ancient Chaos Lobster is here. Boil some water and melt some butter!

Wouldn't that be almost the same as teleporting? As long as you have teleport control.

I like that idea. Pre-Rfe?

EXAMPLE-On D:48, but you forgot your Medal of Chaos. No problem, just cast the spell, and you are back in the DH, and you can now get your Medal from the storage room. :).

Hmm... how about a return-type spell or scroll that automatically takes you back to level one (or maybe the dwarven town or the Casino) of the dungeon you're in, in, say, 2d10 turns--that way you couldn't just use it to hop out of combat with (insert insanely evil monster here). Scrolls should be fairly rare, on the level of a PoCC or ring of ice; the spell should be fairly expensive. It might corrupt you slightly, use up experience, or take HP as well as PP to cast, though.

Basically, I use the 2x2 (or 4x4, can't remember), unaccessable unless you have teleport, room. I like putting all my stuff there. I also make some storage rooms later on that are trapped to hell. :).

It would be useful to get to storage areas quickly.

I also think you should be able to specify which level you want....

It would be a whole lot better if it were a spellbook, so you don't have to keep getting scrolls.

I would *REALLY* like it if the monsters directly around you were able to come with you, ie, companions. :).
