anyone know where i can find a list of prime numbers? ive looked everywhere, but i cant find a resonable one (ie they all say something like 33218925.2169690+1) and thats not what im looking for. I know this is kinda a stupid post, but i need this as fast as i can get it. My homeworks already late.

I dont think you care, but the problem is:

Two numbers are called friendly when the sum of their proper factors is the other number. For example, when you add the proper factors of 1148, it is equal to 1210 When you add the proper factors of 1210, it equals 1148. Find as many friendly numbers as possible.

Thanks.

yeah, i went through about 50 numbers, then i started to get bored, and went to more useful measures. I started to explain why i would never need this information to advance in any common career. And that giving a problem without a definite answer could confuse more than teach, leaving me with less of an eduucation than i started with. Now how would that help me? ah well, it doesnt matter... ill do ok on the test.

Lavos: since that homework sounds rather unfairly difficult and not particularly useful, I'll help you a bit. "Friendly numbers" are more usually called "amicable numbers", and the smallest pair is 220 and 284. If you search Google for "amicable numbers" and click on the first link, you'll find that that page has links to several lists of amicable numbers online.

I honestly don't know how your teacher expects you to find amicable numbers by yourself. Maybe she wants you to write a computer program that goes up through all the numbers checking whether they are amicable or not?

I was going to write a qbasic program, but since Ekaterin already found a site... besides, the program would take a LONG time to run in my computer.

Iridia must've been bored :P

Normally i wouldnt have worried about it but its for high school credit, and if i get an F, thats the grade i walk into 9th grade math with. Well, thanks!

Only for one grading period I think.
