uncursed barbed lead sling bullets of hunting... they do exist.

Stuff them up your nose? No, that wouldn't hurt. Eat them? Yeah, there goes your teeth. Oh, talking about teeth, can you actually break a teeth in adom by eating a stone giant corpse? If so, what happens? Do you lose Ap?

Eat a stone giant corpse? Uh... but what is the reason for that? Why would anyone eat it? Maybe if you're starving, then...

BTW, it would be a good idea for a PC to try eating wooden things, his boots, or scrolls if he's starving. What do you think about this?

I once had griffon-feathered sling bullets. Anyone for a game of badminton ?

Dimitriy - You don't know?! You honestly don't know?!
Eating giants grants you an increase in Strenght by one point (except Formoriant giants, they decrease your apperance).

Those fomorian giant corpses can also increase your strength. Different types of giants have a different possibility to increase your strength depending on how high it is. As you all might have noticed, eating ogres is useless after 18 (or so) but fire giants are the best. Fire giant kings of course. A good strategy is to starve yourself, so that your stats start dropping. You won't die untill they don't drop no more, and at that point your strength should be halved, so it's a good chance to get that increase. Rings of weakness are awesome for this, since they drop your strength to 2 when cursed (they're autocursing). Be careful not to crush yourself with luggage.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

RE: Ogres: IIRC I once got extra strength from eating an ogre lord corpse with char strength already over 18 (20 something IIRC) so it could be that higher ranking ogres may have a chance of raising strength even when over 18.

That's probably true. Didn't mean 18 to be a strict limit, and possibly higher ranked ogres can increase strength even after that. At least with giants the lords/kings/jarls are better than normal ones to eat.

well, this much I know. Regular ogre corpses will bump your strength up to about 20. However, if you are stronger than that, starve yourself down to 14 and then it will work again (randomly, of course)

the ogre lords in the TOEF are good to eat because after a while of lying on the floor they get cooked.
