I know you kneed to sacrifice heaps to be in good standing with your diety to get Pre Crowned then Crowned champion of your Allignment or Religion but what does it do for you in the long run can you pray more often or what? And how do you make specific prayers? Cos i want to ask for an everburning torch i got it once with the "heir" talent.

You get:
- a free artefact
- (if crowned) a permanent "Blessed" status (like from the spell 'Bless')
- (if crowned)Artefact penalty to food consumption is halved (instead of 1 more unit per tur for each 2 artefacts, you get 1 unit for each 4 - rounds down).
- (if crowned) random immunity (fire, acid, lighting, ice)

That's it. No specific prayers (that's wishing! :P).

Chris, are you sure? IIRC no class gets an everburning torch as as an heir gift. What race/class were you playing? Or haven't I just played enough adom, so that I'm wrong in simple questions such as this one? Hmm, maybe I ought to play more.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

Don't some orcs get everburning torches as part of starting equipment? Not as heir gift... just normal starting equipment...

You can put it away Chris - It's an everyburning torch, it will lite up every time you equip it, and it will go out when you will so :)

It's one of the rarest items but it's always granted for Orc Priests (now, go make a random orc priest, don't take heir, unequip your torch, and equip it again - see, I told you! :P )

Wishing is an aspect of the game - you can cast a Wish spell (cost varies from 4000 to 2000 pp and every cast costs you a -10 on a random stat, for example -10 St.), you can get a wish when drinking from a pool (but you can get doomed, cursed, and get a hostile water elemental - the effects are random), you can get a wish from a blessed ring of djinni summoning (rare item), and from a wand of wishing (VERY rare item, non-rechargable wand).
It's like this: you get a message "What do you wish for?:_" And you type. You can wish for almost all items (exept the "wishing" types), stats, skills, any monster (exept some unique ones), healing, companions, death - you name it.

Orc paladins and priests get an everbyrning torch every time at start. For paladins it's always blessed.

Heir gift for paladins is lawful mithril long sword (+0, 1d8+3) but that's hard to confirm w/ orcs 'cos of lack of the starting talents. Priests get heavy mace of the sun (+3, 2d5+3) [-2, +0] (also hard to confirm).

Correct me if I'm wrong. And hey, I'm back!
