I know it's a duplicating artifact but what do they do and how do you use them?

They duplicate. And you use them by having them in your inventory, so they can duplicate :P
No other use - ofcourse, sell them for money or sacrifice to your god. Use them as missiles. Use them as a non-corroding weapon if you run into grey oozes and have no other artefact/eterinium item.

Nothing special about it, it's just a "Si" that duplicates.

You can sell them for a lot of money for how early you get it. if you dont mind the extra space, keep it with you for a while and sac it for an early crowning.

Eternium corrodes also, I believe.

No, it doesn't. I've cleared a couple of ooze vaults with an eterinium 2-handed sword, and not a single scratch on it. And it wasn't even blessed.
Adamantium items can corrode, eterinium stuff can't, and also can't melt.

Yes! Finally someone with the same opinion as me, that is, thinking that admantium items can corrode and melt :P Don't know what the truth is, but some people have the idea that higher metals than iron don't melt. I'm pretty sure I've had mithril stuff burn up in the ToEF. I believe only eternium items are immune to fire/acid/corrosion. Eternium armour can be damaged by monsters punching through it, though.

If someone has the absolute truth, please tell us.

Just get yourself a char with level 3 fire resistance, load them up with adamantium items, put them in a locked Rich Flavor room in the ToEF, and tape the keyboard down so turns pass. You should then have your answer :)

Nothing. If you haven't noticed already, topics in these forums have a tendency to drift off topic after an average of about 5 useful posts :)
