Don't you think ADOM needs more cool spells? If so,what would they be?

Firewall
Not sure if ADOM already has this spell.
It would be really cool though, sweeping through a mass of monsters.

Static Electricty
Touch the target monster and he/she is stunned.

Isn't it every ADOMer's right to dream?

I'd actually like other improved balls than just fire. Why not?

Indeed, Improved Acid ball would be a killer.

I'd love a death ball and improved death ball. Could be overpowered, though.

Yes, how about an Improved Multielemental-death ball?
And I would say yes to the Improved Ice Ball and Lighting Ball, but no, to the Improved Acid Ball. There almost aren't any acid resistant creatures out there, and most dangerous stuff is immune to fire - that's propably why we have an Improved fireball. ;)

As for new spells - I'd really like a Cone of Cold, Shocking Grasp and Acid Touch, working the same way as Burning Hands.
Or a bizzare spell of Death Wish: kills one creature or PC from the level it's casted upon, at random. :)

How about a magic ball? Same type of damage as magic bolt. That would result in an unshruggable, unresistable spell. Wouldn't that be fun :P

Oh wait, oh yeah, it wouldn't.

Yea, but a Magic Spark, that would work as a magic version of burining hands would be fun :P

Some sort version of 'Time Stop' would be nice. It would dramatically slow or even stop (with experienced mages) the timeflow surrounding the mage. Then he/she could blast spells or drink or whatever.. Duration should be pretty short, though.

Not my own idea, just a ripoff from BG2.

A spell that when it's on, u can't die, but as soon as u *would* have died, it's un-cast. It would have a pretty heavy cost, like 500pp, and maybe a mana pt.

lol

what about a spell that increases stats? or at least appearance, since most corruptions decrease that.

I don't think that'd be a good idea. If it were a temporary boost of 1, it'd be useless. It it were a bigger boost, it'd be too powerful, 'cause you'd run around with increased stats all the time (ā la strength of atlas).

Maybe a stat increasing spell could give a temporary boost of 10 or so to a stat, after which it would decrease the stat by 1 due to exhaustion or sth like that. Kind of like a drug, you could use it for quite a long time as a performance enhancer, but slowly your body would crumble. Eg if a casting lasted 1000 turns with a boost of 10 you would get negative effects only after 10000 turns if used all the time.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

Ok, a spell like Taz's, it would be a Spell of Balance- and w/e the +* is, is what it's average +* would be :-D
(like the POTION of balance, not scroll, btw)

that was confusing... i guess you should only read the bit in the brackets

yeah, the idea of getting a temp boost then losing one permanently sounds good. though, depending on the stat and how high it is, it shouldn't be hard to get that one point back again.

Hm...

Shuffle. Area spell like normal foo balls. Randomly swaps the monsters in its area around (including caster). Shuffled monsters get angry at the caster.

Wheel of Fortune. Again, an area spell. All monsters in the area of effect (excluding uniques) are subjected to a random effect like:
-Instantly killed
-Healed to full hit points/magic points
-Heavily corrupted
-Cured of (some) corruption
-Transformed into some other monster (like using a !oEx)

I think I need to lie down...

Haste - temporary increase to speed :P
Quicksand - like the web spell, but can't be burned or shrugged off (temporary, of course... or maybe if it only slowed down monsters you could have a permanent version)

How about adding special spells/powers for druids?

Like the ability to control an animal/plant at will.Maybe the animated trees.

And elementalist-only spells too:

Elemental Portal - Summons a large number of random vortices, all tame. Caution : Not to be used unless you are immune to fire, ice, lightning, and acid. It would, of course, cost a very large amount of mana.

Elemental Storm - Like casting all four normal balls in succesion : I.e, it has the radius of any ball, but does the damage of acid, plus that of fire, plus that of ice, plus that of lightning. It would also cost a huge amount of mana.

And what about Necromancers?

Dark Transformation
Once an enemy humanoid is touched,he/she will transform into a random undead creature after a few turns.He/she will become your slave.

Dark Plague
Spreads a deadly plague, which affects all creatures entering it's radius. The affected monster will either rot to death,or transform into a zombie(untamed).

I couldn't come up with better names for the spells. :(

Necromancers get Vampire Touch as a class power, that's a cool thing (but not any usefull - it would be much more fun on a Beastfighter >:D ).
I don't thing they should get any special spells, they are just masters of Necromancy, not some Death Wizard/Lich.

And Elementalists should get some wind-based spells that would work like telekinesis blasts from Mindcrafters.

dont think that druids should be able to control animals/plants, maybe they could persuade them instead?
priests or healers could get a similar power to necromancers, the one where if you die, you come back from the dead.
