My last memorable char was a gnomish wizard. Had saved khelly, done ToHK and ToEF and passed casino and bunny level (RIP Bugs). No cat kills, IIRC so I was on my way of getting certain spoily. On around D:35 I was happily slaughtering a vault of black dragons with death ray (casting from HP - no big deal since the char had some 300 HP and 300+ blessed spenses). There was no danger whatsoever, those poor dragons didn't stand a chance. But then...the game just locked up. Damn ! Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. L9 High Elven Priest - He's doing pretty well,so far.One thing that bugs me is Yergius.I failed to kill him because he went on a blind rage and killed himself.The weird thing is,right after he killed himself,this message appeared;"Yergius,the Master Thief looks much stronger"(?).That pissed me a lot since I really wanted to buy that nice book in Barnabas's store.Anyway,I managed to kill Hotzenplotz,and is currently trying to find Yriggs.But I can't seem to find Jharod...maybe he died :(.I think that there's a possibility that Jharod got killed;he might have stepped on a trap,or was killed by a monster,etc.Now how am I suppose to get Yriggs to recover :(?Might as well kill him.*Sigh* Fear me not,I'll go nice on you....For now. |

Anarchy2: Well, at least you have Healing already. Once I had a Human Farmer who'd got off to a good start when she saw Jharod step on a fireball trap and die. Well, there was no way I was going to go on without the Healing skill. I went to Hotzenplotz wondering if he'd give me credit for Jharod's death but he didn't, so I committed suicide by attacking him. |

You still get Yriggs' stuff, but the elder doesn't give you a reward. He doesn't get mad at you either - he just thanks you for relieving Yriggs and tells you where to find the source of chaos. |

Damn.I wish I took the Druid's quest instead. L9 High Elven Priest.YES. This has got to be the worst day of my life.First,I stepped on a fireball trap,which destroyed most of my *sniff* beautiful scrolls.Then,a goblin appeared and I just HAD to cast Divine Wrath.The bolt bounced and hitted me,destroying my only shield.OMG.It's happening..ADOM's trying to kill me again :(. Yes, I guess it is possible for Jharod to get killed, after all he's not immortal. Once I accidentally killed him (playing a priest I mistook him for a doppelganger from a distance and fired a beam spell at him - d'oh). I guess it would also be possible to get Jharod corrupted into jelly if there happened to be a corruption trap in that room. Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. I was smart enough to eat a jackal corpse while surounded by jackals. Dead, casting cure serious wounds didn't help enough. Damn, he was going to beat the jackals, if only i hadn't eaten a jackal.... I lost my High Elven Priest.But I think I'm getting better at ADOM!In just one day,I've managed to do a lot of things I haven't done in(don't laugh)2 years: reaching Lv14(that was the highest)and entering (:() the Highland Village. LOL.I really have much to catch up with you guys. Fear me not,I'll go nice on you....For now. |

I recently played a Trollish Beastfighter.He was really promising,he even managed to save that cute dog(I feel so proud of myself).I was so lucky to find an altar in the Village Dungeon!The reason of his death was pretty...depressing.I was feeling cocky so I led tons of monsters to the altar to sacrifice them.Unfortunately,I foolishly stepped on MY altar,and an ogre sacrificed me. From this day onward,I will slay all ogres that I encounter,regardless of alignment and reaction. Fear me not,I'll go nice on you....For now. |

Sure, you do that. Especially slay Ogre Emperors if you meet any :P (cause of death of my last char - had 98 of 420 hp left, because I just cleared out the Liberary, and didn't bother to drink a PoExtra Healing - I've already killed 7 of those, without loosing more than 20 hp, so why should I bother? Critical hits for 120 hps, that why! :D ) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. Just completed the game (though haven't left DC yet). Char is a gnomish wizard that reached lv 50 even before mana temple, thanks to some nice vaults. I deliberately have left char a bit corrupted because I'm going to raise MP to huge amounts (hoping to be able to cast wish) by draining wands with the mana battery. It's going to be way boring, though so don't expect VP for a while. That char is absolutely loaded with spells and has reasonable stats and is currently roaming ID35-40 in search of stuff. I'm playing a Drakeling Healer right now.He was doing pretty well,when a series of misfortunes suddenly hit the poor guy.Oh well,atleast he's still alive.But this;I just have to share with you guys. While wandering around the Village Dungeon,I found a water trap,and a gremlin.I wasn't quick enough to stop him...they multiply like crazy,so I decided to flee into a narrow passageway.It wasn't so hard,but I struggled to escape.But the stuff they drop...oh my god.I found a lot of cool items(including tomes,rings,amulets,wands,etc),so it was actually worth it.I managed to get out,with the help of my acid spit(but I had to take a break every once in a while to recharge myself with food).It was a pretty dramatic battle,actually.I struggled through massive numbers of gremlins,and I managed to get to the water trap.I stood on the trap and spiited acid at the gremlins,soon finishing them off. Sigh.And now,I don't even want to IMAGINE how the gremlin cave will look like.It was hell.Hell. Fear me not,I'll go nice on you....For now. |

Just lost a promising char due to my concentration running low.. (as always) lv23 Drakish wizard: Found cloak of invisibility in lv1 in puppycave, which helped me ALOT in the beginning. After clearing out a lesser vault in DD Preserver was obtained (+regen). And after sneaking in to DarkFroge treasurechambers using, Magic Map, and Teleport I found eternium 2hander of devastation. Anyway I was on a killing spree. Cleared out the Pyramid, ToHK, Library and ToEF (with a blessed ring of ice). Then when my concentration was a bit low, scumming through the Rift for an AoLS or RoDS for Khelly, I misstook a ancient white dragon for a regular one. And ofcorse he scored critical and killed me before I had time to notice my mistake. Really depressing, The farest I had come without cheating. btw, are there ant downsides of fighting invicible besides not be able to fight in the arena? |

Spoiler Yes, by 3. And that's a lot, considering that the base value is 1 per turn, and increases by 0,5 with each artefact (rounded down). Keep in mind, that only invisibility granting items increase food consumption, the permenent invisibility gained from pools does not. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |
