Cos if you can than you can bless them by dipping them into potions of holy water cos I want to a get a blessed "Deaths Sting", then improve it by reading scrolls of "Incerase melee damage" and "Increase melee Accuracy".

I think you can't use Increase melee damage scroll or accuracy to raise artifact weapon stats. Also Death Sting is only useful by giving it to Bart who lives in Dwarftown. He'll teach you Backstabbing, Tactics and Two Weapon Combat in exchange for the Golden Gladius.

I don't quite understand you. Yes, you can curse items, just dip them into potions of unholy water. But why would you do that?

You can't improve artifacts in any way. And like Jaska said, the deaths sting isn't all that great, the skills you get for it are better (tactics rocks when at high levels).
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

sometimes I like to curse my blessed stomafilla and then remove the curse, making them uncursed. This is because I believe its sometimes better to not run around bloated. I cant think of another useful example, though.

J. - Dark elves actually benefit from cursing their spider bread :) So that's one thing he'd want to do.
No idea about other stuff.

You can curse items by reading a cursed scroll of uncursing, of by angering your god, or, as it was said, by diping them into unholy water.

And you can't change the stats of an artefact. Not by scrolls, not by smithing - nothing can change an artefact.

I thought of another thing: if you try on armour and it is something like trapped clothes, you might want to curse it so that it gets destroyed by the monsters more easily. Also might want to curse/doom yourself so that they get better hits on you :P
