What does he mean by this sentence... "Before I will teach ye, ye need to prove that ye art able to exert mercy" I'd really appreciate any help. I dedicate my life to you, Katie Durkin. My sword as well, is dedicated. |

Just a note on luring Yriggs to Jharod: He will be attacking you, and depending on your DV/PV may be able to do some considerable damage, especially if your still fairly low in level (which most are when going for this quest). I've lost more than a few characters to the bum. The All-Powerful Ancient Chaos Lobster is here. Boil some water and melt some butter! |

Anything I could add would be spoily. You pick up the Blessed Amulet of Life Saving. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, slowly turns toward you. "That will cost you.. ..your soul" |

"Coward" gives you less experience... usually I use "defensive" for spellcasters and "aggressive" for melee fighters; both are a bit of a balance between the rapid hit point loss that comes with Berserk, and the fact that you do very little damage in Coward. Berserk is for finishing off monsters quickly (either if they can't hurt you, or if you're gambling that you'll kill them before they kill you, or if they're armor-piercing bugs); Coward is for when you're in a bad spot, running from a tough monster, or desperately need defense. i barely use tactics :-S Taz: A potion of gain attributes (4s) is lying here. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Something on the ground is smashed to pieces! PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'. |

I use Beserker for killing all monsters except bugs of course and walk around dungeons and the wilderness in Coward mode. "Such is life" - Ned Kelly |

With very defensive or coward you don't get weapon marks with melee weapons. With berserk you don't get shield marks. Therefore, I usually use very aggressive pretty much for the fastest increase in shield marks, and also defensive for some situations. The tactics skill is wonderful at high levels, you get much better bonuses with it. Though, if I start a barbarian I'll go true berserk until I find something decent to wear. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. True. IIRC you get to run faster when you're under 1/3 of your max hp. Walking speed is increased in the same way as seven league boots make your movement faster, but it's a smaller effect. The bonus speed is cumulative with the boots' bonus of course. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. I use nothing but very aggressive once I have 100 tactics. 50 to hit and 20 damage in exchange for 10 DV... definitely worth it. And it gets better with higher weapon and experience levels, I think. |
