Well I remember that Jonsey had some problems with getting full screen on XP, and I finally found out why I can get full screen, and he couldn't :D
In XP you can run programs under the earlier systems, so just make a shortcut have it run under Windows 95 and at full screen.

Umm how is this supposed to help, since even in win95 mode it still won't let me alt+enter to full screen and there is no full screen option in the file properties..

More exact instructions please. Also, which version of Adom do you mean?

1.1.1, DOS version.
And you're supposed to make it run on "maximised window" (the second fold, the one with the destination), run in full screen (the "screen" section), and have it run under Windows 95.

Clear enough?

Yes, but all the fonts turn into something strange. This is odd, since when alt entering the windowed, fonts appear normal, but if I set the exe to be run in full screen via props, it changes the fonts. I tried to change the fonts via props, but no go.

Well, I can always alt enter the game when I start it...slows down char creation. Oh well.

Didn't you know, that you can change the fonts? On the third fold, named "font" :D

Yes, but I didn't find any good ones. Any suggestions for that? They all looked, well, bad.
Everytime the texts appeared in the upper part of the screen, leaving almost half screen empty, and when the game actually starts, everything is so darn small I can barely see. I tried with different font sizes, but this didn't help.
No matter. As said, I can alt enter the screen. It's just weird that it won't 'remember' the full screen mode like it did on win95

I play version 1.0.0 not that anyone here has the brains to because there is a box in the upper left hand corner that lets you select the auto screen pop up size and I choose 10x18 cos it's the closest you can get to full screen without some of the screen being lost and also error 291 is recoverable cos all you have to do is delete the adom.prc file and viola.

The only thing good about version 1.1.1 is the talents addition but there is still the "skilled" talent bug so I choose version 1.0.0.

Not to mention it is easier to cheat in 1.0.0. ?

Also, error 291 recovarable? You mean you get to keep the char? I don't think so, deleteting adom.prc just enables the game back to working status.

The 'skilled' talent bug has been fixed in all the versions a while ago.

The only (other) way to cheat in 1.1.1 is using a memory editor.

Can you do me a favour and tell me where to get a fixed copy of version 1.1.1? I have downloaded 111, and winbeta 3 & 4 from the ADOM site and each one still gives me the "fatal error "illegal skill advancement (2/0)" " message everytime I select the skilled talent.
Thanks in advance for any help.

http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~houeland/adom/

I reccomend getting the patcher. The files are at the bottom.

The following changes were made:
* Monsters no longer reach as high experience levels.(uberjackals)
* Monsters no longer fight in a blind rage.
* Artifacts available in a game are now random like they're supposed to be.
* The 'skilled' talents no longer crash the game
(Their effects are twice what's listed in the manual though,
this hasn't been changed.)
