2d1 -6? I'd say that means the damage total is determined by rolling two one(?) sided dice, and subtracting six from the result. Though I can't think of a weapon with that stat. Could you post the whole line of weapon description? Like

uncursed dagger (+2, 1d4-1)

Battle axe (+0, 1d6+2) grants +0 to hit and deals 1-6 +2 points of damage. One roll of a six-sided die plus two. The number before the d is the number of dice rolled and the number after the d tells how many sides those dice have. Quite simple really. :P

Hmm...ok , so +0 is about hits, and 1d6+2 is damage.
I dont understand the dice thing. If i got many dice sides what does that mean?(more damage i suppose?)
Number of dices rolled?? umm...please explain more specific... i am so boneheaded. =)

Number of sides on a die is the range it can go between. So a d6 is a normal six-sided die, and can result between one and six, d3 is 1 - 3, d10 1 - 10. And so on.

When I was a beginner I thought "2d3" meant two times taken the same random number 1-3. In other words, only even numbers would result in this case. But it isnīt true, is it?

honza, no. it's like you taking two die with three sides each, and throwing them. so you could get a 1 in the first die and a 2 in the second. giving a total of 3 :P
