Wouldn't it be cool if, for once during each game, to have some sort of final strike? If your character is probably going to die, wouldn't it be nice to take your killer with you? Like monks can have something like a punching frenzy...hit half as many times as your mana points, with a permanent loss of mana. Probably have to be in berserk mode.

Just a thought.

Hmm... that might be nice... you could use it to take out Andy, and there's another way to end the game...

like a kamikaze attack? ie: are you guaranteed to die? yeah, it'd be cool but the only use it'd have is to kill Andy. to kill yourself that way in any other situation would be a bit pointless ;)

Hmmm, what if you decided to go kamikaze when you had some means of coming back from the dead?

or that it'd just take a number of energy, like 5000 or so, and your dv would drop to 0, and alsoyou'd lose some hitpoints in the process, so that death would be very probable, but not certain.

And my point was...

hmm... maybe...
but i was thinking something like you having only 0.5% of your total hp, which would give you access to the special attack, which costs anywhere between 0.49% and 1% of your total hp. ie: you only survive if the die rolls right on 0.49% and you have 0.5%
gee, that sounds complicated...

Not for anyone who's ever played D&D...

I do think there ought to be a small chance of survival. But it should be small. AoLS and the level-50 necromancer skill should still work.

Severe stat loss ought to be part of it, though; what I imagine is someone who deliberately impales himself on his opponent's weapon in order to deliver a fatal blow... no one recovers from that right away.

i'm not sure about the severe loss of stat. i mean, if the character already has a very slim chance of survival, that's enough. and as for surviving due to necromancy or AoLS, you already receive penalties for those anyway (loss of toughness and loss of a great item).

With equipment that boosts your toughness above 10 you lose practically nothing;)
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

It'd be pretty useless unless there was a chance of survival (however small). That way it would serve as an absolute last resort, however desperate. Then again, I suppose prayers are meant to be your only last resort.
