The banshee is on the level with all the corpses lying about (corpses don't rot on the level). If she isn't there, maybe some random monster killed her or she stepped on some traps or something. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Yeah, she isn't very tough to beat if you've shut your ears. She can get quite experienced if you lure her up to the animated forest and let her kill a few thousand trees there :P A decent way to get lots of stuff.
