What does it matter how long one has played? All this question will bring up is "Im better than you" BS.

Dunno... we've never really had that problem on here. If anyone says "I'm better than you" it's usually followed by, "here's some advice on how to become better, yourself..."

I've played ADOM for three years. Never won yet.

I've played ADOM for... now let me think... something like 6 years (Gamma 12 was the first one I played). One non-cheated win.
Still go bored of it at some points, but that can happen when you hate spellcasters ;P

Something around three and a half to four years.

But rather erratically - going on and off it for periods of time.

Started playing some time in 2001 I believe, but like many others I don't play it all the time, I play it fanatically for a week and then not at all for two weeks etc.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

I had played since I begun what would be Senior High in Sweden. (10th grade)
That was -97 so I guess it is 7 years.
But I only gave in to it totally this last 6 months..
Had my first and only yet win aboute a weeks ago.

IIRC I started playing ADOM around gamma 9 or gamma 6, can't quite remember which one. Haven't been playing too much lately, with my time being taken by BG:DA2...

I'm not entirely sure how long ago I started playing, but I'd estimate about 6 months. I play about 8 hours a week and about 1 in 2 weeks.
My best char yet was my level 32 human necromancer, saved khelavaster, got orbs of fire and water, then died in the Library.

I think about six or seven years. I was playing Hack then Nethack then Slash and then finally Slash'em before a friend showed me ADOM. I remember that it was just the wilderness and the infinite dungeon when I first played. I think. If not, that's how I played. Walked to the infinite dungeon and start down.

I have completed the game once... and finished it another two times but continued to wander about rather than leaving and actually 'finishing'. I have only completed the 1.x.y versions.

I started playing before 1.0.0, so I guess I've played for about 3-4 years. Beaten the game two times scumming, two times without.

Played the game a long ago for a few days and quit, because I couldn't get far.

Started again a bit less than month ago and already finished the game twice without cheating. Also lost 2 potential winners to client crash. :( I don't think I would've managed without the spoilers though. Now I'm trying to go for ultimate win.

I've started to play in october, 2001.
How did you heard about adom`?
I was searching on download.com for games and rogue-like(didn't know what it meant by then). I downloaded the only version that was there(gamma 15). After I opened it I saw just the wilderness and i thouht, how boring it must be but still after 1 week I tried it again. But it was the manual that attracted me. It was exactly the kind of game wanted. So I started playing. I searched on the internet for more sites about adom and I though I was the only ADOM fan except the guy who put the game on download.com and TB
Nice surprise I got here...

For the Horde!

I heard some friends of mine talk about it and decided to give it a try and since then I've been addicted to it.
(This happened only last year so I haven't been playing as long as most players on these forums, but I've managed to finish the game twice, once without cheating)

I posted above as an Unregistered user.. I forgot to say that I have only ever won playing 50 line games. Where everything is huge! I still can't beat the game on it's default size setting.

"I think about six or seven years. I was playing Hack then Nethack then Slash and then finally Slash'em before a friend showed me ADOM. I remember that it was just the wilderness and the infinite dungeon when I first played. I think. If not, that's how I played. Walked to the infinite dungeon and start down.

Is what I wrote before.
