Okej.. So I am at the Casino and have just picked up everything to identify it. Afterwards I drop it (with :d+y) and head for the door to collect money. But that shopkeeper won't move and 'p' tells me I still owe him aboute 50k but I haven't anything thats unpayed, and no money either. How do I solve this problem? Can it be that I have consumed an unpayed item? Not that I think I have though.. |

No.. But the mana battery and touched some wands seems to be it. Now how to solve it with no money? Is there any way out of it besides kill the shopkeeper? |

So I killed him.. And no other on the level got hostile.. strange.. Anyway later at the cat level (no teleport) I discover a tention room of quickling kings.. Daaamn that was close.. Guess it took 5 or 6 prayers of healing before I got out. Inventory cursed and so on.. I had two tower crystal shields and coward on and they still make aboute 60hp damage each step I take. Any tips of how to get through it? Im playing a Drakling Wizard, currently at lv:27. [Edited 3 times, last edit on 2/23/2004 at 13:39 (GMT -5) by Marillion] |

Killing the shopkeeper may have cursed you (perhaps even doomed). That could be part of the reason that the quickling kings are hurting you so badly. They're not immune to anything, so ball spells could be useful, or perhaps Burning Hands. |

Since I'm a wiz I had Revalation and It didn't show any cursing or dooming but i visited an altar anyway to remove my cursed inventory.. Anyway I sealed the room with doors and dug myself around the problem. =) Then I took them out from the other way with my currently lv48 Magic Missile! Right now Im @ lv38 and searhing for humanoid slaying ammo to deal with Nuurag-Vaarn. First time below Water Temple, wish me luck! =) EDIT: Another thing.. How much must one sacc to get extremly close after crowning? I've sacced aboute 3mill now and still just very close. Good luck...hope you defeat Nuurag-Vaarn. As far as closeness to your God goes...I believe there is some sort artifact criteria vs. your level...it goes something like: 8+3*(# of artifacts generated so far in game)<= level of your character...or something like that. So, if you generated more than 10 artifacts so far and are still level 38, I dont believe you are, at this point, subject to post-crowning...but Im not sure. Here are the pre-requisites for post-crowning Spoiler * postcrowning occurs only if the PC is not of extreme alignment (not L+, N= or C-) * extremely close * character level >= 8 + 3 * artifacts generated. Note that PCs who achieve precrowning or crowning may never again see the "extremely close" status message. In this case, determining whether the PC has sufficient piety for further precrownings, crowning or postcrowning is a matter of trial and error. This is not as bad as it might seem, since praying uses up very little piety if prayers "remain unheard" - that is, the deity does nothing.
