In this version of Adom (1.1.1) the jackels summoned who are experienced, are lethel. They are hard to hit, get critical hits often and there's lots of them.
You meet them early on in the game quite frequently and I really think it's a bug because they never used to be this stupidly powerful.
What does everyone else think?

IMO either it's a bug (TB decided to add some challenge by making monsters advance faster but accidentally entered something like 100 instead of 10 when making modifications), badly thought out feature or just plain sadistic behaviour from TB. Doesn't matter to me what the real reason is, I'm not playing 1.1.x due to that ridiculous monster-levelling.

There is a patch by ToGU that addresses that problem, it tones it down to what it orgininally supposed to be, or thereabouts.

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."- Voltaire
"Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven."- John Milton, Paradise Lost
"Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love."- Kahlil Gibran
"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it."- Voltaire.
"What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist."-Salman Rushdie

I've never had a problem with the uberjackels, I tend to be tough enough to handle them... but what about uber chaos servants? The last game I cheated to the end had extremely experienced chaos servents on D:50 that gave me much more trouble than the greater balor.

I haven't had this problem. Are you talking about being completely surrounded by jackals? Monsters always hit you easier and harder when you are surrounded.. and it seems harder to hurt them. I trust that you aren't talking about monsters generated in the small cave. Either way, it's really worth not letting yourself get surrounded. Fight in a corridor or in a corner of the screen if in the wilderness.

No, the problem is that they level up way too fast. How does it sound that a level 20 beastfighter has to beat one damn spider for 10 turns, hitting each time? The thing had 300 hp (CoC level 7...) for Christ's sake!
Jackals? Even worse, they have the nasty habit of scoring criticals, and when you got 20 of them coming each with monster HP, you wish you'd have the Death Ray...
Even if you can fight them in corridors, it is damn boring as it takes forever to kill them.

pernicion: true, when you are surrounded that happens, the Courage skill helps in this.
