What would be a good exp. level for entering the bug town? Like 16, maybe? Or 25?

I don't know if there's any upper limit for experience level when entering the Bug Town. If there isn't then you should wait as long as you can or have needed tools to handle the bugs. It's not wise to melee with them because they strike through your armor.

I entered the town at exp. level 23. I had invisibility and lots of arrows to avoid melee combat. Then of course I had 7 league boots so I could shoot them and flee and shoot more.

So the answer is good experience level to enter the town is as high as you can get at that point. But you should at least have over 200 HP to avoid being killed.

Thank you for the info. I don't use fighter characters, I use spell-casters.

lvl 1 is good for spellcasters (first bug => you're lvl 5)

also, if you have invisiblity, going thru the bug place is piece of cake...

Those greater claw bugs are easy with a spell-caster, but the Killer Bugs finish me off QUICK. Stas, have you added a section on the bug town to your website?

Only you need is Darkness and maybe invisibility... You can just darken the whole bug place. That's not still very good 'cause when you think that the bugs are all killed and cast light, you suddenly might notice that you're dead. Invisibility is very useful, but it's rare in just beginging of the game.

CK: Is darkness really that effective against those bugs ? In earlier gammas it was almost 100% certain way to get most enemies easily slaughtered though that seems to be changed in 1.0.0. At least Steel golems seem quite unaffected by darkness now...

I thought hostiles would notice you if your in darkness or invisable UNLESS you stood next to them and then attacked them and they have surived till their go.
