I am playing a grey elven elementalist, aspiring for an ultra-end which i doubt will happen now. I went chaotic to feed the ratling artifacts and get the medal of chaos which i got, and went back to neutral. I've been chaotic twice in the game. What happened is i got to the casino level, got billions of cash, waddled to the nearest altar and sacced 1000000, which got me absolutely close. Then i prayed, which got me from N- to N=, and prayed again and the god refused to crown me. I've done this numerous times and suceeded in wrecking my account by repeatedly praying to the god. (god cursed equipment, drop all on altar to bless potions of water, picked it all up, had poison hands corruption.. ended up with 124 potions of poison) Anyways, I am just wondering whether anyone else has noticed this. Oh btw.. i accidentaly wiped out terinyo too.. in my quest to get a farmer's corpse :(. Err i also made the priest in dwarftown angry.. maybe thats why my god is mad... haven't thought about this.. .anyways yes... off to make another character... all help will be appreciated. |

Your god is mad at you because you pray to him a lot. "Then i prayed, which got me from N- to N=, and prayed again and the god refused to crown me" After you prayed the first time, you are not absolutly close anymore, the god won't crown you. Then, by praying once again, you ask him for something - lowering you piety once again. And so on. You must pray exactly when you are absolutly close WITH the required alignment. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Well I actually made some experiments with a char going to get postcrowned it second time. And sometimes I got an artifact directly, sometimes i had to pray up to 5 times before i got it. |

The problem is i did pray to him when i was absolutely close and at N=. :( I think its bewcause i made him angry by converting the altar in dwarftown. |

you could have of course been doomed thanks to some equipment, or maybe your piety fell in that one turn after you read you were at absolutely, to just below the requirement for crowning |
