Well, I have a human wizard and he's more than promising. Barnabas is selling book of teleportation, which I can't afford yet and right now I'm in PC1. I drank from a pool, got poisoned, doomed and all bad stuff, but then I also got a wish. I wished for AoLS of course, but my problem is: How to keep my char alive? I have 34 maximum hit points, got 22 currently left and poison takes about 4 hit points every time. I cannot pray, because I'm doomed and I have no healing available. My first aid skill is at 48, but still I take little more from poison than I can heal - which is why my hit points are where they are. I saved my game and went off to ask for help in case you know a good way. I'm level 7 at the moment. Should I drink more from the pool? Is the situation hopeless? |

The pool could save you, I think one of the effects is to cure poison. Then again, another of the effects is to summon a greater water elemental. Seeing as you are doomed it might not be wise to push your luck. Actually, you might survive just by waiting for the poison to dissipate and using first aid each time and hoping your healing deals with the rest. If you had full hp when you got poisoned you *should* live. can't say for sure though. I imagine you've already thought of this, but do you have any unidentified potions? herbs? press the / button to see what items you've identifed, and if potion of (extra/ultra) healing, potion of cure poison, alraunia antidote don't appear on the list then try your luck. if not, try the pool. What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

I drank more from the pool. Didn't get rid of the poison, but got "You feel lucky." Also, the poison brought me down to 5 HP, but then it finally stopped. I tried drinking potions too, but I only had insight potion and some gain attribute potion. I continued to play happily only to encounter Error 11 while clearing orc chieftain tension room in VD7. :( Oh well, I'll never get a good wizard. |

The ingot crash has been fixed in all versions. You can't get a wish while doomed, so you probably weren't doomed in the first place. You might have just lost fate smiles or something. |

I got doomed and started spamming shift+D to kill my character. I drank like 10-15 times before I got the wish, so maybe I got it removed in there. After drinking potion of insight while trying to keep my char alive I realized I was lucky and cursed only (plus a few resistances). |
