I've had a several characters recently that have run into the same problem. No food being generated! No rations, no corpses (well, the one guy got two kobold corpses, but they don't count). It's just back and forth from dungeon to Terinyo, until they either have no money to buy food, he's out of stock, or they starve before getting there. Each of PC has had the Food Preservation skill (ranging from level 30 - 65). So where's the beef? Or the bun for that matter? The All-Powerful Ancient Chaos Lobster is here. Sometimes Adom just decides to starve you a bit. I try to get to Arena ASAP, food is no problem after first visit there. |

Tho I suck at this game my advice would be to try playing as a Ranger or something else with the Survival Skill it saved me from starvation many times in the early game. Stuff happens & you cant stop it, unless you can. |

Yeah, if you are in the wilderness... but if I ever starve, it's in the UD, where naturally, you can't use Survival. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

btw, i once had a char, that found himself in the ID: 30 with 10 cursed c-lizards, iron ration, stomacemptia herbs many potions and Strained!status because of sis (i was trying to become a champion - sold 'em and sacced the gold). On his way back to the surface, he had drunk ALL the potions, eaten ALL corpses in his way - got doomed, and was starving, when he got to Terinyo. But that wasn't all - he still had to go and sell all the sis in dwarftown, and in Arena no ratlings sold him any lizards. But he made it. He had fallen into pit in Pyramid afterwards and broken his neck. It's very hard to be humble, when you are great. |

Monks are the best at not needing food. You can also go to the Arena first thing, and get some lizards and bats. Fight to get the money for them. Also remember your Herbalism skill, if you have it. Stomafillia is good. :) Die Gedanken sind Frei |

I've been playing drakish monks a bit... and I can tell ya, they get a heck of a lotta food. Sometimes I don't pick up any corpses at all and I still find rations faster than I can eat them. With 100 food preservation, you basically have unlimited acid spit. Treasure hunter could probably also help you with your food supply. The extra items also include food, right? |
