that would make sense. all cats you met could be tame aswell, that would be cool :) walking around with a cat army the greater moloch equips the hulking armor |

In 1.0.0, the RotMC would only explode if you were actually wearing it when you killed a cat. If it was in your backpack, it would not explode. Is it different in 1.1.1? |

I think you should always get the "Are you sure you want to attack?" message, whether the cats are hostile or not. 90% of the time I kill cats it's by accident. |

Klavert: why would it be relatively easy that way ? Sometimes one just has no way to avoid killing a cat (like being stuck between two of them in a corridor without teleportation or digging) but I'd love to be able to avoid killing cats by accident due to typing errors or the like. The Real J.: How many times has that happened to you? I doubt that being stuck between two cats is a pandemic problem, even though it may have happened once. I don't think that we have the right idea of the cat quest here. As you know, the game is from the perspective of the PC for the most part. When the PC enters the Drakalor Chain, he has no idea of the Ring of the Master Cat, or any other quest for that matter. Therefore, getting a message when about to bump into a cat would be strange (and possibly a spoiler) to a new player ("Hmm, I wonder what happens if I kill cats? Let me look at that guidebook!"), but it is illogical considering that, to a PC, a cat is just another creature bent on eating the insides of the PC. So to me, the cat situation is best left as it is; if one plays carefully, the ring is relatively easy anyway, and even if you do kill a cat, the cat lord is a nice source of experience. Besides, the ring, I find, is not really that essential to the game (obviously) and elicits more stress than the reward could possibly be. |

Just thinking: if being berserk will not display the "Really attack ?" query when attacking peacefuls, shouldn't being in coward mode display that query always ? You do indeed fall from grace for killing cats with the ring in your backpack, but personally, I don't care. Having to mince my way around the pests until I get to the Cat Lord is bad enough. |
