Im new to ADOM i just downloaded it and somehow i find myself here...............strange. But i just wanted to know does anyone have any advice for me? |

Try the guidebook. It can be a bit spoily at times, but it won't tell you what to do to finish the game; it is not a walkthrough. It will however help you to understand what is what, game fundamentals etc. The in-game manual is also pretty good, press '?' and then 'm'. Tell me how to get stronger.... |

well i have been playing it and i think im starting to get better. im still figuring out how the game works and i am not trying to beat it right now just going to Lawenilothehl and killing and experimenting. (i use D. elvish magicians and i learned how to shopift :)) |

I always get cursed when I shoplift -.- No fun. Then I go open a door and falls flat on me and I die not being nimble enough(even though I had the corruption EXTREMELY nimble =p) You hit the Ancient Red Dragon and transform it into a mangled heap. Well, actually, you can shoplift without karma problems. Potions of invisibility help with that, but you can only do it once (if that). Drink the potion and pick stuff up until the shopkeeper notices you. If you're Chaotic, even taking items (teleporting out, or blocking the door, or any number of strategies) gives you no problems with shoplifting and cursing/dooming. Those dark elves you're playing (may I suggest a tougher race, to start out? Gnomes, maybe?) are chaotic as heck to start with, so you'll have very few problems shoplifting. Actually Iridia it is possible to do it several times.. If you manage to sneak out before the shopkeeper even begins to stare at your point, you can drink another potion and hope to have the same luck next time. I have used this strategy to recive quick money in early game. Take the first artifact you get that you don't concider a necessity, and sell it. Then steal it and sell it over again.. Did this 6 times in a row in HMW with the Black Torc, recinving I think aboute aboute 30'000 a time.. Quite a load at that time.. |
