just curious... but i realised that whenever i go into the infinite dungeon to level up and get stuff, after a while I always end up just going stairs up/stairs down all the time without exploring the level, never moving except to grab items or thump some critter... would you think it counts as "levelscumming"?? I mean, just waiting for the good stuff to appear, not putting my PC through any risk.. i'm starting to think it is kinda unsporting :P do you do this too? oh, and it also takes up quite a big deal of game time, i.e. by the time i choose to go down to the CoC the time counter is past 400 days... too much, do you think? |

its a game feature, use it. 400 days is way to much games should finish at <180. |

400 days is waaaaaaay to much. I always try to close the gate before day 90. |

figured as much, it did seem a bit long to me, but i also love to roam around in the wilderness, looking for random encounters (always did this when playing other rpgs like fallout or the ultima's, and i can't shake off the habit)... and boy does that add up to the game time |

i usually close the gate between day 50-80 depending on when i find 7lb's. but after closing the gate i often do more stuff just because i dont want to quit playing the character :) the greater moloch equips the hulking armor |

Sure 400 days is a long time, but who cares? If you're not going to make it by day 90, you've got all the time in the world if you can keep the corruption down. Go big or go home! That ID tactic sounds a bit boring to me, but I die a lot, too. |

my thoughts as well, and even for non-magic users it's a way of getting a decent supply of scrolls... and for some reason the scrolls that I seem to find more frequently in there are uncursing and identify, which is just as well. Not to mention lots of potions of water to take to your nearest altar once you head out :) |
