:D Just about everyone dies this way, looses his 7LBs to door traps and makes his tamed killed bug angry with door traps. Just another reason to learn Knock, or be a memeber of the thieves guild. I don't know if this strategy even works, but if I have no way around a locked door (pick axe, teleport, knock etc.), I set tactics to coward and give the door a test kick. I think this may have less chance of setting of traps and knocking down the door, probably not. Apparently if you get a message that says 'The door does not budge' it is not trapped, but if you get 'The door does not budge at all' it is trapped. Using this method I have always managed to get the former message and untrapped doors, so I don't know if this is actually true (though I only play 1.1.1) Tell me how to get stronger.... |

play as a thief and bump up your trap detecting and disarming skiills, and you will never, ever have to kick a trapped door again. http://tankefel.blogspot.com/ So far you have only killed one wild cat. |

Stand diagonal to the door, set your tactics to coward, and give it a kick. I have found, however that there are some exploding doors that do MASSIVE damage to you and your stuff, at the slightest disturbance. You pretty much have to decide whether what is on the other side of that door is worth losing anything in your inventory over... and I mean ANYTHING. :) ...Or you could play a thief. :) |
