My archmage attempt has been going well. The char is now officially an archmage with PP at over 11000 with Ma at 1. HP is IIRC around 2700 with HP-related stats at 1 and speed is over 2000. The problem is it's a real pain doing the wish-roulette ATM. Waiting in world map for PP recharge, enter a wilderness square, do the wish, exit and wait again. Every now and then the char needs to eat (huge pile of blessed stomafillia, what else). At this rate finishing the game is going to take years and years of game time (no such problem for a gnome but is going to be BOOOOOORING).

I was thining of a quicker way. D1 contains a storeroom (right in the room with stairs up) where I have stacked all the stuff I have saved from the BDC scumming. In that room is also a coaligned altar and a huge pile of money from the BDC scumming (some 15+ million GP IIRC). I was thinking of doing the following:

-Sac some money to get in good books (use holy symbol to check the status)
-Pray to fill PP
-Make wish
-Repeat ad nauseam

Two problems with this:

1. With St at 1 the char doesn't have much carrying capacity. The char is wearing a +15 GoGS and ironfist so current St won't fall below 23. But is it safe to just walk up to the pile of money and press ",". Will the char just pick up as much money as can safely be carried and not get crushed ? I guess so but I need to be sure.
2. With dozens, if not hundreds of wishes I'm going to need lots of prayers. Are the prayers going to get VERY heavy on piety, so that I'd need some tens of thousands of money each time I need a PP refill ?

Thanks in advance for information. The version is Linux 1.0.0 if that's any way relevant.

The more you pray the more piety you'll need. I did some tests and my lvl 11 char lost 60k piety after ~15 prayers. Each goldcoin filled up about 0.5 piety if not less. If you are scared about beeing crushed, use a girdle of greed :)

Edit: Don't take my piety research very serious since it was just something i did by misstake a long time ago and I dont remember the exact results.

When you pick up stuff, and if the stuff weights more than you can carry, the game asks how much you want to pick. At least it did with ingots when I played a weaponsmith.

Another question: ATM the speed of the char while unburdened is 2100+. Do seven league boots have any practical effect at this stage or would I be better of switching to eternium boots ?

Illumi: that island could be worth trying. In the world map time passes so fast that hundreds of PPs are regenerated in a short while. As for food, I guess I'm better off using stomafillia. As I have a little stoma-plantation in the bigroom getting some 300 stomafillias is not going to take long.

Real J. - check your movement energy value. Even if you have the stiff muscles corruption (which you don't ;) ) 7LBs shouldn't have any effect on you anymore, since your speed is above 1500 (that's the highest energy cost of movement possible - at that much speed, you move each turn).

Not every turn. Thats misleading. Every insant in which an event can happen in ADOM, no matter how small, you move in.

Every turn is not misleading - calling a 10 turns "one turn" is.
One turn is one turn, not my fault TB decided that at default you can move once per 10 turns.
