I posted this to the old forum too. my question is what means message "You feel like you have run out of luck." and everything gets cursed. It has happened twice and always after loading a saved game. is it some kind of punisment for saving the game too often? |

...or ADOM think the save-file is tampered with. Run Scandisk on your system and check for disk problems. Sometiems when the File Allocation Table (FAT) gets corupted the meta data about your files (such as theyr date stamp) gets messed up and can cause this problem. Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Reaper: IIRC that message meant loss of death ray resistance (gaining it was "You feel bold at the thought of danger", IIRC) |

Well, he asked what it means, right ? IIRC, the Oracle in HMV can also use them. BTW is The Big Blue vulnerable to Death Ray ? Yes, I know it is unique and they shouldn't probably be that but Keriax is vulnerable. And he is unique. |

Most notable of the Death Ray users are the Emperor Liches (I think the Lich kings are content with the vanilla energy blast and summoning and all that). Granted they are not all that common either, but nothing suck quite as much as beeng greeted by a Death Ray blast from outside your line of sight if you don't have the resistance... Oh yes, Emperor Liches can also use Death Ray. I once noticed that tha hard way. IIRC I was playing a dark elf priest and was in the process of robbing the dwarwen garveyard graves. Had robbed two graves without much difficulty, then tried third one. Zapped WoDigging on grave, emperor lich pops out and casts death ray before I have time to react - You die... |

I have bad memories of emperor liches... Once in the dwarven graveyard I was digging graves with my lvl 37 High-Elven Wizard when a emperor lich appeared. It summoned about 40 karmic lizards all around me. Not a good thing... Later he killed me with a death ray... : ( Money talks - All mine ever says is goodbye |
