When do you actually get Rolf's Saviour (the dwarven shield) from the dwarven elder. I sometimes get it, (after becoming champion in the arena), but every time I really want it, Thrundarr doesn't give it to me. So what do you need to have/do/be to get it? Guidebook said that you should be Champion of order, but although I am, he doesn't give it. The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt. |

There doesn't seem to be a guaranteed way of getting it, it's at least partly chance. I don't think you need to be a champion at all, though lawful alignment seems to be a requirement. I doubt that race has any effect either, as I've gotten it with both an orc and a dark elf. What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

You have to be lawful. Beyond that, it's chance: 4/9 chance for dwarves, 1/6 chance for everyone else. Also note that weilding the dwarven shield and the dwarven axe together gives you a +10 bonus to hit and damage. |
