Oh, sorry for the thread name, I know i got you all excited for nothing now. ;)
Anyway, I was wondering if there are any differences in the game depending on what gender you choose. The only one i know is that females can get the frog prince quest.

The reason I came to think about this is that I recently played a whole game thinkinh my character was a female when in fact it was a man. I felt really bad for letting him go around 100+ days with a girls name, which really isn't suitable for the hero that saved Ancardia from chaos.

I noticed it when i was about to submit the character to the HoF, and i changed the name in the FLG, just to be nice to him :)

THe only diffrences known to me are the frog quest and the banshee-wedding ring thing (which is useless, since she has to see you for it to work, bee's wax works all the time).

An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel.
A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks.

The manual says something like women are more agile and men are stronger or something like that. Maybe men get +1 st and women +1 dx at the beginning?

That, and appearance determines shopkeeper prices for females (among other factors), and charisma for males.

Women can pacify barbarians with wedding rings, I think.

Actually, its men can pacify barbarians with wedding rings. The creator said this was purposeful.

Edit:I mean, you can make them your companions as a man, i believe by offering them the wedding ring.

That doesn't make sense...

Women can embark upon the frog quest.

It's berserkers who can be "tamed" with wedding rings, not barbarians. This only works on berserkers of your own gender, which means that since all the powerful types of berserker are always male, only men can make them their companions.

No, it doesn't seem to make sense - when and where did TB say that it was purposeful?

Berserkers can be tamed by males with wedding rings, eh? That's worth trying some time.

I actually spent 20 minutes trying to get a female merchant to start with a wedding ring to try to tame barbarians with, but luck wasn't on my side. And now I find out that wouldn't have worked anyway. Good enough for me.

Finally. a use for wedding rings! and a Berserker emporer as a comp. would be veeery useful.

But but but... Female characters don't weight as much as male characters. 10% less or something...

:L
That's one difference.
