Does anyone have ANY new info on JADE? I noticed that TB hasn't been updating the .de site in many months. Me and a few others that I know are eagerly awaiting this game. Any new info? Thanks.

Don't think there are any more info than what's on the official homepage. But you can try rec.games.roguelike.adom, I'm quite sure I've seen some posts by TB about the progress.

On the website, he said he would "Hopefully" be finishing it by the end of this year, so I hope he pulls through. I really want to play that, no matter how slow my Comp is.

i think that was probably gonna be a working demo or something. the finished product will probably take ages like adom did.

Hasn't he been working on it since 1998? Did ADOM really take 6 years to come out? I mean v0.71?

do you think there really is place for Jade - kind of fantasy world-based life simulation - in the times of Morrowind?

JCool13: Adom v0.71 certainly didn't take 6 years to complete, however the first v0.9.9 took quite a time.

And as I've understood it, ADOM is a game that's very hard to update. It's hard to change stuff in the code. I mean, if you change something on one place alot of other things might stop working correctly. This is because the ADOM code is quite a mess, atleast that's how I've understood it while reading @ rgra.

Too bad Thomas Biskup is just ONE person and not a whole team of 1337 programmers :) But i guess then the game wouldn't have been as cool as it is now :)

Edit:
Yo Garand, I know what you are talking about :) There aren't enough masses to play the morpgs anymore, and you have to wade through lots of dull and boring rpg's to find good ones. But i don't fear, because the Roguelike community will stay true to Roguelikes! :)
