No. Just a special quarterstaff, like phase dagger is special dagger. Quicksilver quarterstaff 20s: (+6, 5d3+5) [+3, +0](+20 spd) made of iron. Not very good, adds some speed, but quarterstaffs aren't good in my opinion, unless you get hold on a murderous eternium-shod quarterstaff of penetration or some such ;) The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. I usually have my wizards and the like start out with Affinity in Staves. I usually keep the Qstaffs while I build up on it. That would be a great weapon for one of my characters :-). |

My archer who just finished found 2 or 3 during the game. Usually they're rarer than that. |

My gnomish thief saw one, but I had an adamantium dagger of penetration :) and later got Serpent's bite at a greater vault. And quarterstaffs don't do that much damage so I don't use them at all in later game. The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt. |
