I was wondering is the Thorns corruption (You have grown thorns [3d3 melee damage, Dx: -2, Ap: -3]) means that monks get 3d*whatever their norm is* If so, that would be REALLY GOOD! Or does it revert it to 3d3? if that is the case, that SUCKS.

You get an extra 3-9 damage. I prefer one of the Thinning corruptions. Actually has no side effects but extra DV i believe

Yeah, the half weight, +6 dv corruption is sweet. Some other good ones (imho):

You have grown horns (+3 melee damage, Ap: -4)
speaks for itself, who cares about Ap?

Your antennae explore the details of your environment (Ap: -4)
Can be very handy for finding hidden passages - it's great in the Minotaur Maze.

Your skin is covered by tough scales (PV: +8, Dx: -6, Ap: -4)
+8 PV is hard to find but Dx can be restored with moss of mareilon.

You have grown a total of 12 eyes (Ap: -6, Pe: +6)
Trade points from a less useful stat to a more useful one.

You exhale sulphur (Ch: -4)
Damage is generally useless late on, but it's useful for emptying your stomach if bloated and there's something you need to eat.

The Thorns corruption is only good if you're a Monk or a Beastfighter, cause you only recieve the bonus if you're fighting unarmed.

I don't like any of the corruptions, other than the one that gives you spontanious teleportation. Awsome if you have teleport control, annoying if you don't. ^_^

Teleportitis is very annoing for a caster, because you must find special locations for reading harder books

It's not so bad. I generally save up my books, then put on all my Le increasing items (crown of science, ring of mental stability etc.), drink a couple of pots of boost learning, go to the assassin's guild and read them all at once.

I've never been a fan of teleportisis, controlled or not.

My archer got 3 dexterity lowering corruptions, don't remember which they were, but I was able to train dexterity to 40 with herbs. That was sweet.

I've heard that thorns actually give no bonus to monks and beastfighters, because 3d3 isn't compatible with their damage dice. So it's useless unless you're a necromancer using shadow touch.

Favorite corruptions? Probably quickling tree ones. Why is it that one lowers weight to 1/2, the other lowers weight to 1/10, yet with both you end up with 1/40 of your original weight? It's true. My archer was 160 pounds without either corruption, 4 pounds with both.

Actually, it is compatible. You can actually see the damage if you use Adom Sage like i used to.
