Well, a good thing to dip in potions of exchange is large piles of rings in places with a high danger level (like the dwarven halls, casino, etc.), because there's a chance of getting a large pile of RoDS. That's what I save my potions of exchange for.

Potions of Exchange are usful for getting rid of unwanted felines & it doesnt count as killing them, just throw one at a cat & if it doesnt dodge it hope it doesnt turn into something worse. As for dipping I cant help you there anything iv ever diped has only changed for a split second or what ever it says, the only thing that ever changes my items are Potions of Raw Chaos

Flamedrake, potions of exchange only change dipped items if they're blessed.

I might just have to waste some holy water just to see what I get, I dont think iv ever had a blessed potion of exchange, & if I did I most likly tried to transform a cat with it.

They can also be used to transform very dangerous monsters, such as greater molochs, into something more manageable. Note that it is possible for the monsters to dodge the potion; also be wary of trying that on anything unique -- you might lose a special drop forever, and that could mean a lost game if that was an Orb, for example.

The best place to dip rings is on danger level 8, so D:8 is ideal. This is because the danger level of rings of djinn summoning is 8, and higher you can produce more rings (lowering your chances at djinn summoning) such as elemental mastery, karmic absorption, and regeneration. You have about a 3% chance (varies a bit depending on which ring type is dipped) of getting djinn summoning, and you can dip up to 19 at a time.

Rings of djinn summonig are your best bet for dipping, though you can also try for seven league boots (D:3) or amulets of lifesaving (D:2).

Raw chaos is more dangerous. You can create potions of raw chaos by dipping the moon sickle (or other corrupting artifact like the black tome) into any potion (things you get a lot of, like invisibility or cure poison, are good). When you create the potion you have a chance (based on your dex) to spill some and cause a small amount of corruption. When you dip something in raw chaos, if you would have created the same item you dipped (based on it's creation probability - exchange never creates the same thing as dipped) then it explodes, causing about 200 damage and lots of corruption. However, you can be safe from this effect if you dip something that can't be created due to the danger level. This most useful application of this would be dipping mithril boots (danger level 6 I think) at D:3 to try and get Seven League boots. Your chances still aren't great (you'll usually get leather or light boots - I think you had about a 4% chance), but it won't explode on you and you can potentially get unlimited raw chaos.
