I had a level 20 hurthling archer named Frodo he had been precrowned with a not so nice dark tome, I dont know what it does but I think it was the reason I died, well I had 2 neutral altars in the puppy cave which was lucky one on the first floor and one on the last floor, I coulda been crowned but I cancelled for a pre. Anyway I went to Lawenilothehl where all of a sudden Barnabas goes hostile on me and sends thugs after me I go into the thevies guild building between to walls trying to fight them off and im doing pretty well cept for theres like a glitch and I cant use my archery without my alignment going down way down so I use tons of wands and stuff till i accidently use a wand of lightning bolt (shock is the only thing I dont have resistance to) and so the bolt goes directly into the wall and so bounces back and fourth like a ton of times I went from like 150 to -100 (it wasnt cool) but I think the reason barnabas attacked me is becuase of the black tome artifact, does anyone know if this is true? Well, not directly, AFAIK just carrying the Tome corrupts you, and you got got the Unholy Aura? That makes shopkeepers hostile at times. |
