Hi guys. I have a nice drakeling mindcrafter. He managed to get two Orbs and Ring of the High Kings. But also he have terrible corruptions and he doesn't have teleport to get to dwarven mystic. So i dont know what to do with him. Should I go deeper or what? Also what is the best weapon class to specialize on? Maybe I should use Big Punch? Nice char... as for a weapon I would suggest sword of Nonnak, the willpower bonus is nice for a drakeling and you have a nice level in swords. And go deeper. To the casino maybe and get some nice things there. And if you didn't kill any cats, go get that awesome ring :). |

No, do NOT go to the casino. Avoid shops at all costs while you have the unholy aura corruption! It will engrage shopkeepers and you will never be able to calm them again. The best weapon to use is largely base3d on what you find. If I find a good weapon (something of devestation, sword of sharpness, mace of destruction, etc.) I'll switch to that generally. Some people like to do polearms as much as possible in anticipaiton of the TotRR. Since you already have such sword skill, though, stick with that unless you have a good reason. Big Punch is NOT a good reason ;) Do you have any missle weapon skills? If not, work on them. They're important. If you have no sources of chaos removal at all, I'd suggest scummning around in areas with no or low corruption until you find one to remove the unholy aura, and THEN you can go deeper. I just fear for what will happen if you go to the casino with the unholy aura =) |

Thanks for your answers. But what is the best way to get these scrolls? Now I am planning to visit Dwarven Mystic so I am scumming ID using Eyes of the Mind to find pixie to get teleportis. May be there is a better way? Also what's the type of missle weapon should I stick to? Scourgary or something traditional. What about acidic split? And I have mace of destruction. May be I should switch to it? |

It looks like you have a decent chance at getting grandmastery in swords, and the sword of Nonnak isn't a bad choice especially for mindcrafters. Largely a decision if you want to spend extra time working up another weapon skill, it could go either way. As for missles... whatever you have a good enough supply of. Even rocks are very powerful tools for your success when you get the skill in them up a bit (which isn't very difficult). Bows and Crossbows are mainly useful so you can use slaying ammo on difficult opponents, and I'd suggest working both of them up at least some. Scurgari are awesome and fun though, especially if you have some returners ;) Your acid spit should do 8d6+8 damage at your level, which isn't too shabby. I have very little experience using the spit myself, so use it if you think it will help. Make sure you don't starve yourelf because of it though. Personally, I don't really like teleportitis unless I can control when I have it (Helm of teleportation). But, that sounds like a decent method of aquiring it if you want it... I guess you want it to teleport to talk to the dwarven mystic. Note that there is also the guaranteed wand of teleportation in the Dusty Dungeon you can use. (And you can easily recharge those few lost charges, if you need to, with some booze) Make sure you're neutral when you talk to the mystic and you'll have a 50% chance at that chaos resistance package. There are also scrolls of chaos resistance in the bug temple, but that area is corrupting itself and difficult without some stuff like SLB (which you have it looks like), good missle skills, or good ball spells. If you manage to get any more greater chaos creature corpses, preserve them (dip them in holy water a few times if you need to) and take them to the druid in terinyo. He'll give you a potion of cure corruption. Would've been good to do that with the snake from beyond and ancient chaos wyrm, but I assume those corpses are already gone. The only other random ones you can find are black unicorns, and they are rare and thier corpses much rarer. |

Whuy dont you put the chaos orb of Water into your tool slot? That will boost your mind-crafting considerably. You are a mind crafter so you have permanent teleport control. Keep going, I suggest. Sooner or later you shall get Teleporting self, a spell book of Teleportation, a scroll of teleportation, a pixie corpse, or a wand or teleport with 0 charges :) If you didnt go to the darkforge yet, there is a lot of pool the with which you can get teleportis (Keep drinking till you see the "you feel jumpy") You can also keep training with the Thief leader (forgot the name) for 100 Climbing and go take the Weird Tome. Read the Guide for the rest. |

A spell book of Teleportation is quite useless for a mindcrafter. Mindcrafter are about as good spell learners as barbarians, if not worse, so reading a spellbook with a mindcrafter probably only drains your To, causes the book to explode or something else as nice. And even if you manage to read it, you get only some 40-50 spell memory most likely. Forget spellbooks with mindcrafters. But library is still definitely worth visiting. You get a lot of random scrolls and rise at least a couple of levels, not mentioning those 5 SoCRs. The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt. |

Well, just like troll wizards, they CAN learn spells, it's just tough. If you can find a room with the permanent effect about books, that will help tremendously. (Mindcrafters are actually about as bad as trolls at learning spells... more information on some of the specifics can be found at our wiki -- http://adom.falldowngoboom.org/ in the 'Learning Spells' section. I didn't link it directly because we may be changing how that works sometime soon. I haven't worked out the exact numbers but it will give you an idea of the stuff that effects your chances) |

Thanks for your advices. Finally I've tired of ID scumming and have cleared bug temple using telekinesis (Orb of Water rulez). I've found that scrolls there and have cured some of corruptions. I've gone deeper and have found black dragon scale main [-2 11] but after reading two scrolls of defence it turned to [3 1]. Is it a feature or what??? I have already sacrificed my mummy wrapping so i'am almost naked. Now i'm in casino and planning buy some good armor there or i'll have a big trouble i think. |

Some monster has probably punched your dragon mail so hard that it has damaged. That is pretty common. That's why I usually wear artifact armors. They don't get destroyed.
