Anyone ever get this message? It doesn't seem to be in the guidebook. I received it while surfacing in the ID today after a long and successful search for an AoLS. I think it may mean that I skipped a floor going up, but I didn't take notice of the floor number, so I'm not sure.

I see this plenty of times in the CoC, e.g travelling from the arena down to the floor below. The message only appears once and happens the first time you use a stair case.

It might be euivalent to a one time room effect but I've never noticed any difference.

What do you mean "surfacing", einh? Does that mean ya just pop through ID levels and hope to find an AoLS? Cause if so, yer one lucky dude

I think I've seen explanation for this, was it Thomas who said it was only that it took the game a longer time than usual to generate the next level. Nothing special was to it IIRC.

"Surfacing" is a submariner term for going to the surface, ie in a submarine.

Yeah. Warlord* is right. I remember that as well.
The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt.

Heh. Now I can't get the picture of somebody going through the ID in a submarine out of my head...

Yeah, I always used to get that descending to the water temple level. It just takes longer to load.
The following is a real Adom message:

That explains it, then. There's a submarine hidden somewhere in the water temple level.
