I'd suggest this: 1)Food preservation 2)Find weakness 3)Alchemy

Food preservation is really good, since you get a lot more corpses, and many corpses give stat boosts and resistances. Find weakness is also a good skill. Alchemy isn't that good, because you may get too hard recipes, so wishing for it is a bit gambling. PoEH aren't that rare, you'll find enough them. Alchemy is good for short-lived races. Recipes for PoL and PoY rarely are too complicated, so I'd wish for alchemy with short-lived PCs. And that possible good recipe for PoGA is very good.
The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt.

Now come to think about it, I mostly play trolls and dark elven, that's why I pick Alchemy. Execuse me *bow*. But about Food Preservation, I think unless you char is extremely unlucky, he should has enough herbs and ratling food for a few lifetime by the time you have your first wish. I almost never die of starvation, even with trolls. That also is affected by playing style, anyway.

Food preservation helps you get greater chaos creatures to the Druid without using many Potions of Holy water...and you can't deny that it helps alot when you get the chance to kill a giant slug or some other somewhat-hard-to-get-an-immunity-granting-corpse-from-monster wandering around the dungoen.

Cooked corpses rot very slow even ithout food perservation. And one can use fire magic to cook them also.
In the fire tower, just leave the AKW corpse on the ground, it will become cooked after a while. (Just stand on it so you can pick it up right after)
Otherwise use fire bolt, wand of fire or fireball. With zero food pres you still shouldnt need to dip it more than once or twice before you get to the druid. (and seriously, every char should be able to spare some zaps from a fire wand if they cant cast the darn spell. I always finish up with half a ton of unused wands)

Food pres is very good for generating corpses though, it gives something like double chance from the start (or rather, two attempts at corpse generation which works out somewhat different) and then three times chance after it hits 90 or 100. However after mid-game you most likely have good enough intrinsics already, and plenty of food too, so then the skill could be a bit of a waste. Find weakness is one of the universally most useful skills, cuz it helps in the end-game as well.
(My current beastfighter received find weakness from potion of education, right before picking Bracers of War up from casino. Nice luck there)

Alchemy is quite good, yes, agreed. I tend to get a lot of gain attributes with it. Even if the recipe needs cure corruption I can always spare a few cure's for gain's (Plenty scrolls lying around)
Oh and one can also wish for recipe-potions and thereby receive more gain attribute potions than wishing directly for them.
