Is it possible to switch deity after being precrowned without becoming fallen champpion? Or does precrowning make champion?

I got greyelven wizard born on month of Wand(spells cost less when neutral) and accidentially goofed around on smallcaves altar gettin precrown on chaotic god...

So what Im asking is should I keep playing as chaotic and lose that 10% off spellcosts(and possible other benefits) or convert char back to neutral and go for crowning(if it is possible anymore)?

Precrowning does not make you champion, so you can change your alignment, but I think the chaos god will be pissed.
