I'd like to know anybody's opinion on this, but what would you think about having color-coded messages at the top of the screen? Like, when you're fighting, if they miss you, it's the standard grey or something, if they hit you but don't do damage, it's yellow, and if they hit and damage, it's red? It seems to me it would make it a lot nicer when fighting hordes of monsters if you could tell when you're getting hurt at a glance. Often, I'll be fighting some horde for a while and not notice when my hp starts dropping...

I'm not sure if this might distract from the actual playing field or not, though, or whether there's a specific reason for the messages being purely grey. What do you people think?

It's easier to just keep a paranoid eye on the HP counter in ADOM.. Maybe something for JADE, though.

I haven't had too much experience with it, so please somebody correct me if I'm wrong....but doesn't ADoM Sage do this?

I just googled for it and came up with this.

Oh, ok, I didn't know about that. Although, I actually prefer the #'s instead of the solid blocks, and it looks... not as good as original ADOM, from the screenshots. But thanks for letting me know about it!

You can disable the block drawing in the sage.cfg file to get the old # back.
I too prefer the original.
