I mean, when you have lot of money. For me,well:
1. Buy everything that is low priced and sell it at higher price.
2. Train stats
3. Make an uber-secret hoard and look proudly on it each time I storage more.

I usually end up killing the old barb at some point in the game (after I get what I need from him), so I usually have a nice trove of gold and other shiney ojbects stashed in "my new house".

Other than that I shop around...try to find some nice things.

It is a little ironic to kill a beggar with a thrown gold piece...spare change my ass!
