I've noticed the last 10 or so attempts at playing this game, after I die, it says my character is cursed. I'm sure it didn't always used to be cursed! I have never cheated, and I always play a troll priest because I heard this was one of the easiest to be. Sometimes I die really fast (in the beginners dungeon northwest of terinyo) and still, it says cursed. Any ideas? |

Just a guess... Spoiler
If you have started those 10 last games on Friday the 13th that could be the reason. I'm not 100% sure, but AFAIK characters starting on Friday the 13th always start out cursed (i.e. unlucky). Some other dates also have special effects. If you don't want to have cursed chars you could either change the date on your computer to something else or leave ADOM for today. AHHHHHH!!! Thanks! I just realised now the very first thing it said when I played was "You feel unlucky", I did a quick search for this and it did indeed reveal the cause. It was driving me crazy, I don't actually know what being cursed does (I have played the game about 100 times in total and I don't understand any of this forum talking about items and dungeons) but I am slowly learning new things. Thanks again! |
