what's the best way to get quick exp?

my wizard gained 12 levels killing blup's mom with slow monster at last hit, spent more time picking skills and talents than killing her.

is it practical to hit yourself with boots of slow shuffle + slow monster to get the kill? i think you'd probably die first...

i was thinking wand of paralysation -> equip slowshuffle + cast slow monster -> cast acid ball to kill

how about wishing for emperor moloch? haven't tried it but gb says it grants 20-25 greater molochs.

any other ridiculous monsters to wish for? preferably deathray-able

ive got ALOT more then 25 greater molochs from wishing for the emperor, theres a scroll you can pick up that increases the monsters experience when generated on that level, probably best going deep wishing for emperor moloch and luring them out one at a time to the level above..

Cat lord pushed my char from 42 to 46, and Sharaad from 46 to 50. :)

Pickpocket a shopkeeper until he notices and attacks you, then mage the shopkeeper and the thugs/casino guards and voila you got some sweet xp. This is rewarding but also extremely dangerous. Remember to be on coward and teleport and heal when you need to. After finishing off the shopkeeper, head to the closest altar to sacrifice something and remove your cursed state.

I dont think a wish is worth it to use on greater molochs.

Aside from trollish characters, i dont seem to find it a problem to get to level 50 during a normal game.

Some of the best ways to get exp:

Early Stages:

Darkforge. Steel Golems give quite a bit of exp in relation to the character level of the PC killing them. (i usually do darkforge ~16-17)

Water/Fire Temple. Kill all the demons and grues you encounter in the temples. Ive never had trouble with them since they fall rather easily to Fire/Cold bolts respectively. If you have access to those bolts, dont just grab the orb and leave.

Middle Stages:

Greater Water Dragon. Worth quite a few points of exp. Can't fight in the dark so use that to your advantage.

Earth Temple. At the time you hit it, stone grues and earth elementals give a LOT of exp. Again, clear it out rather than grabbing the orb and running.

Kill cats, and a lot of them. This will give you a hostile cat lord, and hopefully very powerful. I usually hit the cat lord level at approx exp. level 24-25. Killing the cat lord usually will push a char to the 30's, based on how many cats were killed.

If the cat lord is relatively weak, use magic/melee to kill it.
If the cat lord is too fast/powerful for you to take it, use a wand of webbing. get cat lord stuck in some webs, zap a wand of monster creation to put a buffer between you two. empty a few charges of a wand of poison into him (4-5).

Late Stages:

Ancient Dragons. Scumming the BDC at level 38-40 will most certainly raise you a few exp levels. Greater/Lesser Vaults of dragons also work.

Srrax. He's worth a ton of exp.

Scintillating Cave: Molochs, emperor liches, titans, and Ancient dragons are commonplace in your dive, you should emerge with quite a few levels after diving to kill EM and then coming back out.

Wishing for AKW is a safer and quicker way to gain lots of XP than wishing for EM assuming you have on-demand invisibility (AKW can't see invisible - GMs can). Try wishing for an AKW in the SMC (especially after raising the danger level with scrolls of danger). AKW is vulnerable to magic missile which doesn't reveal your position. So if you are invisible and have magic missile, you can safely drop your speed to 10 (overburdened, slow monster, boots, etc.) and drop the AKW (works best if you have it cornered so it can't escape and the missile bounces). AKW at approx. level 100 will yield approx. 20-25 million XP if your speed is dropped to 10.

"Greater/Lesser Vaults of dragons also work."

greater vaults work better;), which means about 15 experience levels regardless of what level you have, unless you are a troll (of course:).
What do you wish for? *THUMBS* EM_
Silence.
