orcish wizards are ok, so i guess necromancers are only a bit harder (in the very early game). this is because orcs have enough racial brute force to smash all kobolds, goblins and other low level crap without having even a single glare at their spells;) - in terms of St/To they are as good as dwarves (and dwarves make good wizards, too). thus, playing an orcish spellcaster ain't a challenge. Well originally i had a system set up so that everyone could join it but it appears masstonakki and shihna took the most interest =P but if enough people show interest in this forum, we can probably set up some kind of "race" |

Ok...started a troll mindcrafter. This character's actually quite amusing ^^ Too bad that he started with 5 PP though...can't even launch one stupid confusion ray -_-' So far, I've amazingly survived by hauling a huge rock around and squashing all the monsters ^^ Hehe...I find that sorta funny. *Pictures the troll running around with a huge rock on her back* |

My trollish mindcrafter has made it into the CoC at level 5, after learning pick pockets (for detect traps) and visiting the ID. I'm probably going to keep her chaotic and just close the gate despite the ending. May thy wisdom be omnipresent. |

Still trying to get some organization here. Since two people already started Troll Mindcrafters, why don't we make that the challenge race/class. From here on, the first person to post a YAVP with a troll mindcrafter started AFTER this date/time, wins the challenge =) (not forcing anyone, but if people agree to it, let the game begin. yay? ) |

I had a good Dark elf Monk going..someone said that was difficult so I tried :). It went very well too, had 40/23 at level 16 and good stats and herb. Died because I tried to use Vortices to kill blink dogs (I was N- and didn't want to drop down) and forgot to look at my hps. I had lots of healing capability too. Anyway it was my first dark elf monk, and once it got underway it was easy enough. Started Troll mindcrafter. He started out with 30 toughness, combined with a +0 +5 thick hides gave him 11 PV at start...not bad for a mindcrafter eh. Lvl 7 now, 46/16 95 HP and 38 PP. Most promising mindcrafter I ever started. But I fear gaining levels 10-25....and Ghosts. [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/15/2005 at 20:25 (GMT -5) by Molach] |

Keeping thread alive here. My Troll still lives, but havent time to play more than 1 hour every other day, so well see... Level 16 now. Spoiler He found a ring of weakness and 2 seven league bootss, a tower crystal shield (+13+4), ring of djinni summoning. Crowned with robes of resistance. Did some smithing while wearing the ring, so has a +6 +7 cap and a +7 +2 belt. Got DV/PV of 81/42 without tactic. Used ring, herbs, crystals, bulging cranium and Garth to get my current stats: St:37, Le 27, Wi 37, Dx:1 26, To: 29. Mana still 13 though. Did Ring of HK by actually building a bridge, did DH, only one eternium halberd, but found hammer of the gods there. Going down to water temple now, and saving Khelly on the way. When you make a 40-room space locked away with doors, and get a spawning creature there eg. chaos rat, and wait until the space fills in, (of course you don't let them out, eg. get the rat inside and tele out, and lock the door) then monster generation stops, and you can harvest herbs at leisure. The 40 square space can also be done by tunneling down and aroung the right hand side of the screen. (also uses less wand charges, and quite easy if you are good at mining. If you can do it this way it is easier to guard against monsters opening the door and letting your spawners out (one door, as opposed to many). Update: My Troll still lives. Level of (ta-daa) 20. Killed off a room filled with diamond golems gave 1/2 level, so hes getting close to 21 (sigh) Im playing it a lot like a fighter, because even with 40 willpower the mindpowers doesn't seem to be doing much. He's got 270 HP, and some heavily smithed stuff. Spoiler He found the fire orb, killing the ACW at level 19 by a combination of wand of poison, wand of webbing and bashing him with my biggest weapon, hammer of the gods. I endeed up using 5 blessed potions of extra healing (mostly to be safe after an energy ray hit.) Ive just reached the casino, and found the dwarven pick axe artifact and the wyrmlance!. On the way I found a (normal) vault with giants in it, so gonna grab my ring of weakness I left in ogre cave and go beat them up for ST increase. I haven't killed any cats, to gonna grab the master cat ring. I even found another djinni summoning ring (used first to save Khelly) and wonder what I should wish for. Find weakness mabye, because I do not think Ill be able to train alchemy enough, and I have 3 pairs of 7lboots. Planning to grab air and earth orb, hopefully getting some exp doing it. Then gonna do the blue dragon caves (should be easy with wyrmlance) and get the twins. I hope Ill be level 36 before D:50 so I can get rune-covered trident, but if this should be too much, I guess I can manage with twins. He has 8 scroll of chaos resistance, (used two to get rid of unwanted corruptions), its day 100 or so, and hasn't even done bugville (not sure how I can do it with a low mindcrafter) or the rift (not much point, Ill do it if I need the scrolls. Got the climbing and stealth at 100) He has not been able to read a spellbook with learning 35 and after using a wand of wonder first. Both Troll race and Mindcrafter class suffer some penalty, so mabye it's hopeless. And just so it's said: Troll suck! Must be the hardest race to finish with, no questions about that. Any other race and my char would have been level 30+ now. |

I shall not ultra, because Spoiler You need to be level 45 to receive filk quest from Master assassin and I'm not getting near that level (mabye on D:50) Got some more updates since last, but will hold till tomorrow. By then he will be dead or have shaved the world. |
