Forgive me for posting something this far off topic, but I was wondering if any of you could help me out with something. Someone on another forum said something to me in another language, and since I only speak English, I'm dying to know what it is he said. Can any of you lend some insights? This is what he said... cacatule ce esti daca nu eram colegi ti-o dadeam de nu te vedeai.mortii matii!! Thanks in advance. |

No, but I was hoping it was. I can't tell what language it is. Babel Fish was unable to help, too, although in a couple languages, the words "naked you" appear in there. That just makes me even more curious. |

Well so far I've tried out, Finnish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Portugese, Polish and Welsh. In Romanian the the translation was gibberish, but the word "college" appeared a couple of places. In Welsh parts of it where actualy translated, though it still looks like gibberish: "cacatule ce esti daca black eram ) you - he dadeam right black tea vedeai. ) sed to pluck!!" You could see if you have better luck here: http://www.tranexp.com:2000/Translate/result.shtml Be warned though, this tool is notorious for making bad translations, it just translate word for word (often using the wrong meaning of a word) without even attempting to fix grammar, and it's vocabulary is fairly limited to boot. The text might be written in "slang" or contain typos too wich will complicate automated translation tenfold... Did I mention that tool is fairly crappy? check out this translation of the Phrase "Hello, my name is Jan Erik" from Norwegian to English: "Hall , mine appellation am Jan Erik" Use at your own risk :D Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Hoo, this should be fun. Thanks for the link. I'm pretty sure it is Romanian, as I did some searches and found out that "mortii matii" is a general insult of sorts. This guy's message to me (the parts in English) suggested that he wanted to be rude to me. Here's what I got when I translated each word using the dictionary from this site: http://www.dictionare.com/dictionaries/dictionary.htm ? what/why estimate/eastern whether not age colleague ? degrade of not yourself see. (Insult.) Pretty interesting. I'm gonna see if I can't find a real Romanian to look at it for me. *Giggle* |

This comment is probably too late to be of any use or interest, but... If it helps, I can guarantee it's not Spanish. (being 100% Spain-born, you can trust me on that) However, it reminds me of back when I studied a bit of Latin, especially the way some words end, like "mortii matii" or "dadeam". Sadly, I don't remember any of that (was like 8 years ago) and I don't have any books/notes from that time... Still, I'm pretty certain. Especially if it was meant to be a "battle of wits" (quoted); Latin is a likely choice of language to try to test someone else. |

Actually, I made a Romanian friend, who agreed to look at the message. His response was, "I do not care to repeat what this guy said. Reading this makes me ashamed to be Romanian." So whatever it was, it must have been bad. o.o |

You won't be able to get into the forum unless you're a member of the Rise of Darkness alliance in Dark Throne. Sowwy. =^_^= The alliance leaders had ordered a mass attack on someone who was attacking our members, and this guy, Bogdan, was the first to post, and said, "Attack with secondary account," and posted his attack logs. I didn't know if he meant "I attacked with a secondary account," or "Everyone, attack with a secondary account," so I asked very politely what he meant by that. That's when I got the privately-sent insult from him through the game. I think he thought I was insulting his intelligence or use of English or something, but I wasn't. |
