Darkforge? Source of nice stuff, allows an average-level char to get some decent equipment if you're lucky. {Edit} Oh, and the Banshee level. The Casino, or a Greater Vault full of Dragons or Giants. The SIL and the EM lair also deserve special mention, because of the nice colours of the walls. You know you've played too much ADOM when you try to throw coins at people wearing similar clothes as yourself. |

Here are my top five in order from least to greatest: 5)The Unremarkable Dungeon: It's like a mini-CoC, and the prospect of an increased chance for random dungeon goodies (herbs, altars, vaults, forges) make it very fun to romp through. 4)The top of the Tower of Eternal Flames, with a mage with Ice Ball and Frost Bolt. The battle with the Ancient Chaos Room is always fun-a-plenty with a caster. I love trying the spells that I normally don't use (stun ray, web) on him to soften him up. In fact, I am running a wizard who is building up effectivity with "useless" spells. He is at +25 with stun ray now :). 3)The Casino. It's always a lot of fun to drop everything I have before the casino on the stairs, save a blessed scroll of identify, cast Strength of Atlas, pick up every single item, read the scroll, and look at all the goodies :). 2)Dwarftown. I love the idea of a sanctuary in the middle of the hostile dungeon, especially filled with my favorite race. Lots of useful services are to be found as well. 1)Greater vaults (of anything besides Karmics and Undead). Being a wizard with a +30 effectivity Fire Bolt and a +20 effectivity Fireball in a Greater Vault of Ice Dragons is too fun; the reverse is true for Fire Dragon Vaults. I prefer the Fire Dragon version because Frost Bolt and Ice Ball only destroy potions (and scrolls?). By the way, are there such things as mixed greater vaults? I've seen upwards of 20 GV's, never seen a mixed one. |
