My current PC, a lvl. ~14 human archer, is walking around looking for 1. an altar, and 2. more water, to bless his 7 PoGAs. I'm like HOLY CRAP. RNG, GIVE ME WATER. Give a man a fire, and he will be warm for a day. Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life. |

Nah, archers don't fall to stat drainers. What will kill him is either a gorgon, which will sneak up on him or some really good stuff, like a skeleton king room on DH1. (Survived 1 of those only to barbarians' massive HP, and cunning tactics of fighting near stairs ;P )Or a tension room on DH2. Gotta love those - here you get a Greater Earth Elemental pet, and the moment you open a tension room, it dies in 1 round to a greater karmic wyrm and an emperor lich. Survived 2 of those actually, one due to sheer luck (the "run Forrest, run!" tactics and got to the stairway down), one due to my uber-1337ness ;) (that is, a decoy and slaying quarels :P ) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. My last few characters found a high number of PoGA before reaching the Big Room, and they really didn't do any scumming of any kind. May thy wisdom be omnipresent. |

what's so strange about these poga? my characters often collect lots of these in the early game (infinite dungeon+treasure hunter talent). "archers don't fall to stat drainers." unless we're talking about emperor liches;) and a doppelganger king would be a nice threat too;). What do you wish for? *THUMBS* EM_ Silence. Doppelganger kings?! To an archer? No way. Ever. All you have to do, is have DV a lot higher then melee to-hit, which is easy. And the doppelganger king can't hurt you. (works only on kings, since they copy your stats, Lords and normal ones are the threat) And Emperor liches won't drain stats, they'll just death ray him ;) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. Now I start to wonder. I hear about 'danger levels' of items, but is there a complete spoiler on this subject? Soud one stick to exact levels of ID to get PoGAs, or just wander randomly? Ubi patria ibi bene! |
