You mean something like a post count rank, that I've seen on some other forums? That's the worst idea ever IMHO. It just encourages ppl to post those "I agree" and "LOL" posts just to get their post count up. Not that an absence of one has deterred some ppl from posting those useless posts here. "No more shiny ones. Oh well, back to lurking I guesses." |

Actualy there are 4 "ranks", there just aren't any moderators at the moment (no need rely). And Arion is right, there is no need for them, it just encourage spamming... I have an idea about making a rankin system based on reader feedback (each regisreted user can vote either "+" or "-" on each message (once)), and then people get a "rank" depending on how much positive or negative feedback they get on theyr messages... That system has it's flaws too, though so it won't be implemented any time soon... Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Some forums I read allow registered users to create custom ranks. So Duke could have "duke" under his name, maybe I could have "trollish merchant" or something. (anyone here read Wheel of Time? I used to post on a WoT board where I had the custom rank "Asha'manda." :-)). -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Gimme some credit... ;-)) |
