How do keep weaker classes alive in the early game? I'm thinking monk(weaker race)/bard/thief/mindcrafter/assassin. Do you just fight more cautiously (running away when necessary) or do you train them up in the ID? The latter seems like a good idea for classes with very good special abilities (monk, mindcrafter). You could train them up in ID until they're decent fighters. What do ya'll do? "One half of world cannot understand the pleasures of the other." -Emma |

Die a lot :P Aside from that yeah, play carefully, use missiles a lot and wands can be a lifesaver if you can find them. Bards are not that bad, keep your pet alive and get more by playing your instrument for random animals, and let your pets cover your escape if you run into something nasty. Hanging around in the ID for a couple of levels is defenently not a bad idea either. Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

The raider quest doesn't have a time limit, just a level limit so you can still take your time to level up very close to the limit and go unting. If you have a good wand or two or enough missles it's not that hard. As for the puppy, forget it unless you are a bard or very lucky. It's hardly a required quest anyway, it's supposed to be a challange, so obviously don't try it with a weaker than average char. Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Assasin : Put those daggers in missile slot, then Throw them. Bard : Take it easy, and utilize the pet. Mindcrafter : Just plain pain till level 6. Don't be afraid to use up the 2 starting prayers. When you find an altar you can make god happy again easy. Oh yeah, agree that you make some sacrifices about where to hed first. Usually forget about getting a good kill in Lawinthewall, forget the blanket, forget raider quest, forget saving the dog. [Edited 1 time, last edit on 9/29/2005 at 04:44 (GMT -5) by Molach] |

Why should mindcrafters be a pain till lvl6? I just TAB -> A, then melee up. My RL dumpyard: http://www.geocities.com/ceruleannebula/index.html |

In my experience, confused monsters still hit you enough times to make you start a new character, even if they don't do it as fast as they use to.. http://tankefel.blogspot.com/ So far you have only killed one wild cat. |

It happens, but rare. If you dont like the idea, then "TAB" -> "a" then "t""t" My RL dumpyard: http://www.geocities.com/ceruleannebula/index.html |
