I'm back for today and tomorrow, then gone again for two weeks... Anyway, Suggestion:

It was a year or so ago when we had a lot of long-running debates on various topics; and everyone agreed to a 20-line limit per post. I think it would be a good idea to put the limit back into play, as it is extremely tedious to read through a long, rambling post.

(It's even worse to read through lengthy things you just copy-pasted. For those, provide links instead.)

Basic forum etiquette (just to remind you):
--Things not related to ADOM should be posted on the General forum.
--Do not start multiple threads on the same topic. If there's one already and it's still on the first page, make a new post to it rather than starting a new topic.
--Unless you are throwing Fireballs at an ancient white dragon, please do not flame anyone.

Mod out.

;)

Thank you Iridia. This is very much appreciated. So has Echo's online conversion mission been moved to one of the other forums or just removed altogether?

This is 20 line-rule is quite good. I think that stories-part of the forum is an exception to the rule?

Agreed on the new rules, but was it really necessary to *delete* my topic? :P

The forum doesn't allow me to move it. I guess I could've locked it instead; that's what I'll most likely do next time we get an off-topic post in a forum.

That will make really short posts for those who have 15 lines long sigs :)

I vote for 20 lines *including* a sig. That'd make their usage more apropriate: as sigs, not as dumps.

Well, I think that a letter limitation for a signature would be good. Something like 200-250 letter should be enough.

I was under the impression that the 20-line rule should be called by the originator of a thread.

If an originator wants to allow long rambling posts, I think it should be his/her call. Those of us who can't be bothered to read through the drivel can just ignore that thread.

As for signatures, IMHO, I think people should feel shame and humiliation if their signature is longer than their post!
