Caerolina, my so promising level 21 female human archer died yesterday a most untimely death. I was exploring the Dwarven Caves for a way around the Forest when I encountered Blink Dogs. I had to kill quite a few to progress, but, despise my pendant of free actions, I went down to N+ ... crowned. My angry god send me a bolt of energy that prove fatal. Today, I mourn. Tomorrow, I'll make another character :-P All your base are belong to us. |

That pendant of free action only protects you from being paralyzed or immobilized in any other way; not from alignment changes. Bloody blink dogs. They never seem to show up when you want them to. http://tankefel.blogspot.com/ So far you have only killed one wild cat. |

Blink dogs shouldn't be hostile if you're lawful - did you do something to piss them off? Or was it generated before you turned lawful? Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Oh ! I thought I was free to act regardless of my alignement !?! :-/ I was crowned Lawful at level 19. The original Blink Dog may have got out of the tension room I was getting away of. It took me by surprise to see many monsters after opening a door and was backing up hurrily. Probably it teleported out of it and in my way. Serve me well. That shall teach me NOT to open doors in the Dwarven Hall. You see, I was too lazy to wait for a scroll of Magic Mapping ... All your base are belong to us. |
