Each time I click a link, I need to wait greater than 90 seconds.

I have done some investigation, trying to figure out why the site was slow. Here are the results:

First, I opened a traceroute to the brinkster server. This server is only 11 hops away from my office:

Tracing route to secure3.brinkster.com [65.182.102.13]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 39 ms 42 ms 43 ms 68.216.208.93
2 125 ms 109 ms 44 ms 68.216.208.97
3 109 ms 81 ms 96 ms 205.152.132.85
4 116 ms 108 ms 67 ms axr01msy-7-3-0.bellsouth.net [65.83.23
5 67 ms 66 ms 39 ms pxr00msy-1-0-0.bellsouth.net [65.83.23
6 96 ms 50 ms 51 ms so-2-0-0.gar2.Dallas1.Level3.net [67.7
7 98 ms 50 ms 89 ms ae-1-51.bbr1.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.68.
8 115 ms 139 ms 157 ms as-1-0.mp2.Phoenix1.Level3.net [64.159
9 104 ms 72 ms 85 ms ae-21-52.car1.Phoenix1.Level3.net [4.6
10 133 ms 73 ms 174 ms 4.79.184.138
11 87 ms 126 ms 76 ms secure3.brinkster.com [65.182.102.13]

Wow, thats an excellent backbone. Your server appears to be directly off the Level3 backbone. Thats an excellent route. All of the hops are very low latency.

Ping times are similarly excellent:

Ping statistics for 65.182.102.13:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% l
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 73ms, Maximum = 96ms, Average = 82ms

Wow, good ping average.

Next, I decided to check the IP subnet of brinkster to see if the other websites had this same problem. I used the infamous netcraft web tool to do the job for me:

http://toolbar.netcraft.com/netblock?q=ORF-BRINKSTER-COM,65.182.96.0,65.182.111.255

This showed me a large list of known websites on the brinkster subnet, I checked several dozen of them to see if they also demonstrated the same site speed as adom.brinkster.net.

All of the sites I tested seem to be extremely fast. Network speed and IIS 6 overload are certainly not the problem.

Here are the only things I can think of that would cause this site to be so slow:

Possibilities:

1.) The ISP has put a limit on cpu usage for your account, possibly as low as 1%. This causes the ASP code to execute very slow.

2.) The SQL server your code connects to is extremely overloaded.

3.) The ASP code that initilizes the dynamic content is extremely inefficient.

I observe that static content on adom.brinkster.net appears to load instantly for me. My best guess is that your user account on the 2003 server box has limited cpu usage.

just read some of the older threads, and you will see that the reason for the site being so slow is already clear.

Yeah, I rely need to get that database situation sorted out ASAP. I'm having a little trouble with the mySQL migration tool as it keeps trying to create new databases, while I'm limited to just the one on the server. Think I have to make it generate a SQL file and then edit it manualy or something.
